Getting Started with MyAIBox
Install and set up MyAIBox in under 5 minutes.
Install the extension
MyAIBox is a Chrome extension that lives inside ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, and Grok. Click "Add to Chrome" on the homepage and confirm the install prompt. The extension works on Chrome, Edge, Brave, Arc, and any other Chromium-based browser — no separate app or account required to start.
Once installed, visit any supported AI platform. MyAIBox detects the site automatically and slides a sidebar panel into the right side of the page. You should see the panel within a second or two of the page loading. If it does not appear, refresh the tab — first-load detection occasionally needs a nudge.
Create your first folder
The fastest way to feel the value of MyAIBox is to organize one messy chat. Open the sidebar, click the "New folder" button, and give it a name like "Client work" or "Research". Drag any conversation from the chat list into the folder, or right-click a chat and choose "Move to folder".
Folders are local by default and sync across devices once you sign in. You get four folders on the free plan, which is enough to start taming a cluttered history. Upgrade to Monthly or Lifetime to remove that cap entirely.
Sign in to sync
Click the account icon in the sidebar and sign in with your email. Signing in turns on cross-device sync: your folders, prompts, bookmarks, pins, and labels are encrypted on your device with AES-256-GCM and then uploaded. Our servers only ever see encrypted blobs — we cannot read your data, even if we wanted to.
Signing in also unlocks usage history and, on paid plans, cross-platform search and writing analytics. You can stay signed out and use most features offline; sync and history simply will not be available until you sign in.
Pin your go-to chats
Some chats you return to constantly — a coding assistant, a writing coach, a weekly planner. Pin them. Hover a conversation and click the pin icon, or use the pin action in the sidebar. Pinned chats float to the top of the list and survive across sessions, so your most important context is always one click away.
Combine pins with folders for a two-level system: folders for projects, pins for the one or two chats within each project that you open every day. Most power users settle on this pattern within their first week.
Where to go next
You now have the basics: install, organize, sync, pin. From here, the highest-leverage next steps are search (so you can find anything you have ever asked an AI) and the prompt library (so you never rewrite a good prompt). Both are covered in their own guides.
If you hit a snag, the sidebar has a help link, or you can write to [email protected]. We answer every email ourselves, usually within a day.
