Cross-Device Sync Setup

Sign in to MyAIBox on one device and your folders, prompts, bookmarks, pins, labels, and settings follow you to every other device where you sign in. The sync is automatic and continuous — create a folder on your laptop and it appears on your desktop within seconds.

Sync works across different browsers too. Sign in on Chrome at work and Edge at home and your library is identical in both. The only requirement is the extension installed and the same account signed in on each.

Open the account panel in the sidebar and sign in with your email. On first sign-in, your local data is encrypted and uploaded. On every other device, signing in pulls that encrypted data down and decrypts it locally. There is no import or export step — signing in is the entire setup.

If you have existing local data on a second device before signing in, MyAIBox merges it with your synced data rather than overwriting. Folders and prompts with the same name are combined; nothing is silently lost. For a clean start on a new device, simply sign in and let sync populate it.

Sync covers your organizational layer: folders, tags, pins, labels, bookmarks, prompts, chains, and your settings (theme, accent, sounds). It does not copy the conversation content itself — that lives on each AI platform servers, and MyAIBox reads it from the page. Sync ensures your structure is identical everywhere, so a chat you foldered on one device is foldered on all.

This split is deliberate. Syncing only your organizational metadata keeps sync fast and your data footprint small, while the conversations — which you can already access from any device via the platform itself — stay where they belong.

All sync data is encrypted on your device with AES-256-GCM before it is uploaded. Our servers store only encrypted blobs and have no key to decrypt them. Even if a server were compromised, an attacker would see ciphertext only. This is the reason we cannot recover your data if you lose your account — we genuinely cannot read it.

Your encryption keys are tied to your account credentials. Keep your account secure with a strong password. If you ever want a fresh start, you can reset sync from the settings panel, which clears the encrypted store and re-seeds from your current local data.
